In 1997, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½’s Theatre Arts Department paired with the Santa Susanna Repertory Theatre Company to produce two weekends of a production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in Kingsmen Park.
That experiment led to the founding of the Kingsmen Shakespeare Company, the professional theatre of Ä¢¹½´«Ã½. As artistic director for most of the years of the summer festival, it has been my pleasure to witness thousands of audience members be entertained, thrilled, and emotionally moved by the company’s performances.
Kingsmen is an important part of Ä¢¹½´«Ã½, the broader community, and a world in which Shakespeare still speaks to contemporary humans.
