Traditional Upward Bound
The TRIO Upward Bound Program at Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ was established in 1980. It was the first of four TRIO programs at the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ campus. The program’s efficacy is measured by their participant’s successes.
For over 30 years, the TRIO Upward Bound Program at Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ has provided services to students from the Oxnard Unified High School District, which prepared them to encounter their educational endeavors and become successful professionals.
Services include:
- 6-week summer academic program
- Exposure to academic programs and cultural events
- Instruction in reading, writing, study skills, and other subjects necessary for success in education beyond high school
- Academic, financial, or personal counseling
- Tutorial services
- Mentoring programs
- Information on postsecondary education opportunities
- Assistance in completing college entrance and financial aid applications
- Assistance in preparing for college entrance exams
- Information on the full range of Federal Student Financial Aid programs and benefits
